
Still somewhat in the development or building stage of this business, as I continue to grow in my qualification scope, I write here happy to announce the launch of my 10-week Heal Your Gut Naturally course.
I designed this course with the intent of providing an enabling structure for me to help clients improve their nutritional habits and also to support them working towards health and wellbeing goals including improved gut health.
The course is structured around the 5R Gut Protocol which is a functional medicine framework designed to heal the digestive system and improve overall health through give steps: Remove, Replace, Reincolate, Repair and Rebalance. It addresses root causes of gut dysfunction, such as dysbiosis and inflammation, by eliminating pathogens, supporting digestion, restoring healthy bacteria, healing the gut lining, and implementing lifestyle changes.
The 5R Steps Explained
- Remove: Eliminate factors that damage the gut, including inflammatory foods (gluten, dairy, processed foods), pathogenic bacteria, yeast, parasites, and environmental toxins.
- Replace: Support digestion by adding necessary elements, such as digestive enzymes, hydrochloric acid, or bile acids, to improve nutrient absorption.
- Reinoculate (or Repopulate): Reintroduce healthy bacteria using fermented foods (e.g., yogurt, kefir, kimchi) and prebiotic foods to feed good bacteria.
- Repair: Support the healing of the intestinal lining, often using supplements like L-glutamine, collagen, zinc, and nutrient-dense foods like bone broth.
- Rebalance: Address overall wellness to prevent future issues, focusing on lifestyle factors like stress management, quality sleep, and regular physical activity.
