Trauma Counselling
Safety and stability are prioritised in these sessions, and we take time to slowly and gently develop a therapeutic relationship where trust is built in authentic, empathetic and compassionate connection. The techniques used in Integrative Counselling can also be used here in addition to Trauma-Focused or Trauma-Informed CBT and also Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which are key techniques used internationally for trauma processing and recovery. Over time we work to unpack and process traumatic experience so as to heal, and we work towards the redevelopment of a personal narrative for you to embody and to move forward with hope. Techniques from Somatic Therapy and Mindfulness may be of interest to you to ground in your being including in working through dissociative tendency. Creativity and Expressive Therapy have also a strong evidence base in helping with trauma process work. The sessions, as with all other services, are individualised to your need.
Mental Health Counselling
This counselling provides space to process and develop self-awareness in relation, for example you may choose to initially focus upon processing a diagnosis and be coming to terms with any effect upon identity and sense of self. We can explore historical patterns towards acceptance and also identify and practice coping and mindfulness skills. The counselling here is more focused upon your internal world and finding peace and clarity to the degree possible for you at this time. The Mindful Mental Health Psychosocial Recovery Coaching focuses on the development of goals and skill development and is a useful follow up from this counselling.
Eco-Grief/Anxiety Counselling
The techniques used in Integrative Counselling can also be utilised to help you process towards integration within these counselling sessions. The intent here is to help you process grief and loss, anger and other emotions including overwhelm that you may be experiencing in the face of planetary crises such as climate change, and to move through for example anxiety and depression or other mental health conditions. We can establish therapy goals specific to you but the essential aim in this service is to enable acceptance and to facilitate the recovery of your agency. We also work to build your discernment to understand wise action founded in compassion for self and all beings. There is wisdom and peace to be found in the processing of emotion including through Art, Expressive, Narrative and Nature Based Therapy for example. This counselling can help you stabilise and calm and strengthen your resilience and overall mental health. Recovering hope that is grounded in reality is an outcome of this counselling. Hope is the most sustainable of fuel for the human soul, and it inspires others to also process, accept and act alongside you.
Couples Counselling
This counselling works to create compassionate common ground within a relational context. We explore individual and relational blockage to health, wellbeing and growth. A range of technique can be utilised here drawing upon diverse method which help you to understand yourself and your attachment and relational patterns. Meeting with you as individuals if required and together across process, we clarify challenge and obstacle and work together to build understanding or illumination across difference, resolve conflict and grow compassion. We discern necessary steps forward for healthy individual growth to be best enabled with respect a priority. If appropriate we also initiate steps forward for a deeper expression of intimacy and depth of connection within the container of the relationship.
Eco-Therapy: Nature-Based Counselling and Coaching
In this service, we lean all the way into nature as a source of healing and also to learn about how to live a well, functional and balanced life. Research proves that a connection to nature and also to a concept greater than self which nature provides is essential for wellbeing. This framework can be used across any other service offered.
Vocational Counselling & Coaching
Each session is tailored and focused to help you navigate career change, challenge and choice. Resume review and development is inclusive if required. The counselling style here is more targeted with a focus on developing career goals, identifying challenge and the tools required to meet this and building your understanding about the practical action that is required to be sustained to meet your goals. We work together to understand any blockage external or internal that to your desired path. Coaching is blended into this service particularly for those navigating change or those in a business development process. Positive and empowering encouragement is provided here, as well as space for rational reflection. Leadership counselling and coaching including in best-practice communication skills, for example how to listen and how to express empathy, can also be a focus.
